Attention: Riders who are looking to improve their balance, cornering, pedaling and other mountain bike skills.
Do you struggle to ride with more skill and flow?
Do you watch other riders and wonder how they are able to navigate the trail with style and grace?
Have you spent time and money on skills training but still struggle to consistently apply the things you “know” to the trail?
Discover the real secret to quickly improving your mountain bike skills and, more importantly, how to make those improvements stick.
If you answered yes to any of the questions above then I know exactly how you feel. It was too long ago that I also struggled to ride with the skill and flow I wanted to have. And when I did manage to have a good ride it wasn’t long before I was back following my bad habits.
It used to really frustrate me that I couldn’t ride like I wanted to, almost like I was trapped in my own body. I knew that I wanted it to do but it just seemed like I couldn’t get it to do it, at least not as often as I wanted it too.
But something happened to me that I want to share with you. I discovered the real secret to improving your flow and skills on the bike – improve how you move off the bike!
Yes, I know it sounds counter-intuative but hear me out. You see, every skill you use on the bike is based on a movement skill that you use off of the bike. From pedaling to cornering, bunny hopping to basic body position – all of them rely on the same basic movement patterns you use off of the bike.
What I realized was that I could use my training off the bike to improve my basic movement skills and then I could apply those improved movement skills to the bike. It was like magic as I started being able to ride at a higher skill level far more consistently once I made this connection.
I went from a rider who wrecked trying to jump off of a curb to one who could ride up and down just about anything I came across. I could consistently hit jumps and rip corners instead of wrecking as much.
Trust me, I’m no natural talent when it comes to mountain biking and if this stuff can work for me it can work for you as well. But I know that you are probably skeptical as well…you’ve probably never heard anyone claim that you can improve your skills and flow on the bike by working on specific things off of the bike.
So here is what I’d like to do for you. I wrote a chapter for a book a few years ago that goes into this concept in great detail. In it I tell you more about how I realized that there was far more to improving your mountain bike skills than just practicing those skills and how this realization changed my training forever.
I also go over the 5 Basic Mountain Bike Skills. Everything you do on the trail boils down to some combination of these skills and every rider should know what they are. I explain the dynamics and balance points of each position as well as how they apply to the trail. This gives you a better sense of each skill than you can get from just watching someone do it.
In addition, you also find the Top 5 MTB Exercises. Each exercise corresponds with a skill and represents a way that you can work on the skill through targeted strength training. I explain how to do each exercise as well as provide pictures, descriptions and video links to help you get started with them.
Altogether you have a blueprint to start improving your trail skills in a way unlike anything you’ve tried before. And I want to give it to you for free.
All I ask is that you give me your best email address to send you the download link and I’ll send it right over.
