Deep Squat Dynamic Flow Sequence

The deep squat pattern is very important for mountain bikers to have cleaned up. If you have trouble getting down into a deep squat position then this dynamic flow routine will help a lot. Use this routine on a daily basis for increasing mobility or as a warm up for a workout that requires front squats.

Please note that this routine is from the book Athletic Body in Balance by Grey Cook. Check that book out if you want to get some great insight into how you move and how that affects your riding.

  1. This is a great sequence to do before a workout or even when I am feeling a little tight I will do this sequence routine to loosen up. When I first saw this video on here a few months ago I started doing it and I must say James, it feels quite nice. Grey Cook and his Functional Movement Systems method is interesting to read about and implement. I am actually reading Movement right now. I have not read Athletic Body in Balance though. I think I just might have to pick that up as well. Have you done the FMS cert. course?

Haven’t done the cert yet, on my list for this year. I really want to get the CK-FMS, which is half the reason I did the RKC since you have to have it first.
