Weight ladders are probably the best method I have ever come across for easily improving a mountain biker’s strength without making them feel sore and tired. It is almost sneaky how the method works – you end up doing a lot of reps with a heavy weight but you don’t overly extended yourself on any single set. Thanks James. Can the same principle be applied to bodyweight exercises? e.g. a ladder of exercise progressions, or a ladder of reps?
Sure, you can use Rep Ladders with any type of exercises, you just have to adjust the reps accordingly. If I was doing push ups, for example, I might do a 5/10/15 rep ladder or 10/20/30 for bodyweight squats.
