I learned a cool exercise from Brett Jones last month that I’m calling the Get Up Elbow Bridge (Brett didn’t have a name for it yet).
This exercise is a twist on the hip bridge step of the Turkish Get Up exercise and really locks your lower back into place. This prevents you from using anything but your hips to bridge up, which are a weak point for a lot of mountain bikers. This increased hip recruitment will help you on your regular Turkish Get Ups as well as improve your pedaling power on the trail. Check out this video to see how this exercise in action.
